Angular & Vue Front Ends

The front end is the part of your app people actually see. It should be fast, clear and comfortable to use on a phone, not just on the developer's big screen.

I work in both Angular and Vue. The right one depends on what you are building, and I’ll recommend one and explain why.

When I recommend Angular#

Angular is a complete, opinionated framework. It shines in larger business applications with many screens, complex forms and several people working on the code over the years. Its structure keeps a big application organized, and its long-term support releases make upgrades predictable.

Typical fits: internal operations tools, customer portals with many features, admin systems.

When I recommend Vue#

Vue is lighter and quicker to build with. It is ideal for customer-facing sites, smaller applications, and adding interactive features to pages that must stay fast and search-friendly.

This website is an example. Every page is pre-rendered HTML that search engines can read, and Vue adds the interactive parts, like the contact form and the technology tabs, on top.

Details that make the difference#

  • Mobile first. Most of your customers will see the app on a phone, so that is where the design starts.
  • Accessibility. Proper labels, focus states, keyboard support and contrast make the app usable by everyone, and they help with search rankings too.
  • Speed. Small bundles, lazy-loaded features and optimized assets, so pages are usable in a moment rather than after a spinner.

Got a spreadsheet that has outgrown itself?

Or an idea for a customer portal, or an old app that needs rescuing? Tell me about it. The first conversation is about your business, not about technology.
